The above is the best for home colouring, the colour does not fades fast as others %26amp; it adds a lot of shine to the hair too.

shades as follows

5.3 chestnut brown

5 natural brown

shades as follows

lightbrown to medium brown

Make sure you do a skin test before using the product.

because you want to home colour your hair with it being very dark %26amp; you want to make it brown the shade on the box is not the colour you will get! the colour will always come out much darker.

The only way your hair will come out the true colour of the box is if you use there lightener first before using the colour this will basically bleach the hair so you will get the the true colour that you want.

um i really think you should go red head or either a light brown that would make your skin not look as light as you say you hate it and it would just make you look very soft so yea

You should dye it a color that wouldnt look odd with your eyebrows. If your eyebrows are black then go for a medium brown.

I have black hair and having messed it up badly several times, here is my advice - get it done professionally. At least for the first time. In order for black color to turn another color, it first needs to get lighter. Otherwise the color doesn't take. Rather than use a color only to get disastrous results, just have a salon do the die first. Ask them what brand and color they used. They will give you that information which you can then use to do your hair on your own. Trust me - don't try it yourself. It's worth the investment.

My hair is naturally black, but I dye it a burgandy-ish color, so I can help with lightening!

I use Revlon colorsilk

Those are the different shades they offer.

From what you describe, I think dark mahogany brown would look good on you.

However, keep in mind that it'll probably take two or three times before your hair actually gets to that color because it is naturally black.

You should wait in between each dying though, about two weeks.

You don't need bleach because that'll really damage your hair, more than the two or three dye jobs would.

Hope I helped!

the best hair color i use is garnier fruiteese and it comes in a coffee brown or auburn. that i think would be perfect with your coloring and skin tone. but u can basically pick the shade u like except for blonde. that is too hard to dye black hair blonde and sometimes takes 2 boxes. just remeber if u pick a color with red tones in it it will be redder the first couple of days than tone down some. i hope this helps...
