im going to dye my hair blond or purple streaks and i want to know what brand/colour for blond or purple of hair dye goes well on natural black hair. x]

dont die ur hair blonde it will show ur black hair in 6 days my friend did that i would say get purple streaks with ur black hair and a salon that will look really good

Go to Sally's Beauty Supply and ask an associate there! They should have MANY good suggestions. Also, you could try actually getting it done at a salon and asking him how you can keep it up yourself at home. They will DEFinitely lead you in the right direction!!

Not a good idea. Get it done at a hairdresser first. Specially going from black to blonde. It'll turn our coppery. Hair dresser can tone it out. Then all you have to do is the roots every 6 weeks. Plus there are so many different shades of blonde. Hair dresser will give you the right shade to go with your complexion. Otherwise you'll end up looking anemic. But good luck with it

You should probably go to a salon and get it done professionally because there is always the chance you can fry your hair going from black to light may hurt it if you try the home methods. Sally's probably will not sell you the bleach kit unless you are licensed. Good Luck!

you can't color your hair purple with black hair you won't see it you have to pre-lighten it first. then try manic panic!!

the loreal stuff in a box is purple plum i think and you can get it from wal-mart for about 3.00-5.00 i think i'm not for sure!!! but hope it helped!!!

use an exxtreme bleach kit to dye your hair blonde and it will probably take two tries and for the purple hair dye go to sallys and get manic panic its the best and will stay for atleast half a year.

WOW, THAT WILL BE BOLD IF BLONDE, OR VERY COOL IF PURPLE,,, I WOULD RECOMMEND LOREAL, IT SEEMS TO BE THE MOST NATURAL I HAVE FOUND FOR HAIR COLORING YET. I HAVE USED ALOT OF DIFFERNT BRANDS ON PEOPLES HAIR AND I REALLY LIKE THE SOFT EFFECTS AFTER COLORING I HAVE FOUND IN LOREAL ALSO. IF YOU ARE GOING TO GO WITH BLONDE STREAKS FOR BLACK HAIR YOU MIGHT WANT TO CONSULT A PRPFESSIONAL SALON CAUSE IT IS VERY HARD TO GET BLONDE OUT OF BLACK WITHOUT TURNING THE HAIR ORANGE OR YELLOW, IT HAS TO BE STRIPPED OUT FIRST IF IT IS BLACK AND THAT IS NOT SOMETHING MOST PEOPLE CAN DO CORRECTLY IF THEY ARE NOT PROFESSIONAL'S.

You are lucky with the dark hair, and can use either depending on natural or funky look. Are you pulling your hair through a cap or attempting foils? Be careful so that the color doesn't bleed, especially the blonde. I believe its Manic (semi permanent or permanent color from Sally's that would be good for the purple. As for the blonde, be careful lightening black hair, you don't want orange. Just watch it lighten and control it if your going to use bleach. Otherwise try a light ash blonde to cut the red/orange.

I've been a cosmetologist for 12 years...a salon could definitely do this. I had purple in my hair, but mine was blonde and when it faded, I had grayish streaks in the lightest blonde. ugh
