Is there a way to dye dark brown hair without bleaching?

I want to TEMPORARILY dye my hair hot pink (for my halloween costume); however, due to my asian heritage, I have extremely dark brown hair, and I have never chemically treated it before (so basically I have "virgin" hair). I would love to temporarily dye my hair instead of wearing a wig (I find it uncomfortable and itchy), but I do not want to bleach my hair. Is there any way to lighten hair without bleach and still get the hot pink result? Or better yet, is there a temporary hair dye that will show up as hot pink without doing anything else to my hair?

I think you should use that hair color that comes in a spray can. It's totally temporary and washes out with one wash. I'm pretty sure it comes in all types of colors and you could get it at any halloween store.

No. Unfortunately, to get the hot pink to show up at all, you would have to bleach your hair. I've tried different colors in my hair without bleaching first and the color didn't show up at all (I have black hair.)

If you have a sally beauty supply near you - go there. They carry product specifically for dark hair and it is demi permanent (washes out in about 20 shampoos). Good Luck!
