PLEASE read if you have any experience regarding HAIR DYE.?

i have my friend dye my hair because right now i'm kind of on a tight budget and all hair salons around here charge $100+ for hair color.

i usually stay in the same shades medium brown-reddish. my natural hair color is dark dark brown.

i dye my hair probably once every 4-6 weeks and lately i noticed the top of my hair ALWAYS ends up lighter than the bottom of my hair [which makes sense because the hair dye spends more time on that part of my hair] so i was wondering if there's any way to avoid this?

can i dye the top of my hair first, then do the top?

any thoughts would help! thanks!

Start by putting the dye in at the ends and work your way up. Your roots will soak up the dye faster than the ends will. You can also put a heavy conditioner on any parts that you do not want dyed. That will prevent the dye from penetrating your hair.

If you are continually dying your hair as often as you say...you should probably only be doing touch ups at the roots only, therefore you will not be damaging your ends. make sure you trim slightly after for healthier hair.

if you do the foils and start at the top, half way down you can take out the top and wash out, and then pull the top back with a clip while you do the bottom half, that way its not in too long
