RAW hair dye?

I was thinking about dying my hair with RAW Semi-Permanent hair dye in Deep Purple. I read that its best to only wash your hair with shampoo before dying it, and dye it while your hair is damp and freshly washed. They said you could leave it in as long as you want (they said the longer you leave it in the longer it lasts) and to condition your hair after you wash it out. I was wondering if any of this stuff is true? And after you wash it out, do you shampoo again before you condition? Or just condition?
