Could you dye your hair semi without bleaching it?

I want to dye my hair a funcky color, and I need to know if I should bleach it or not. If I don't, can I still dye it teal or purple? I have another question out asking where I can find hair dye, but I really need to know about the bleaching. Oh, and if I do have to bleach, how can I not destroy my hair? Thanks!!!

Could you dye your hair semi without bleaching it?

Depends on your natural hair color/whatever color it is right now. I had to bleach mine almost blond/white to get it the real color of the dye (blue and red), otherwise it would turn out a mix of the dye and the light brown/orange I bleached it too (making it turn out green or orange).

Semi-permanent dye also washes out quickly, meaning it'll fade fast. So for my hair, it stayed dark blue for a week or so, then eventually turquoise/green. Also, sometimes semi-perm is more like a permanent faded color, so keep that in mind.

Bleaching isn't so bad, just don't leave it in longer than the instructions say, and use conditioner after putting the dye in (not before, so it can lock the dye in). Also, if you can't get it bleached to the color you want on your first try, don't bleach it again right away, give it at least a week or 2 to recover.

Could you dye your hair semi without bleaching it?

if you want semis you have to bleach unless you are already blond. if you do bleach do not use bleach in the box use the pro stuff which you have to mix equally (peroxide 20 volume + bleach) at equal parts should be less harrassing to your hair than that boxed stuff, i am a hairstylist and my hair is fushia, way to express yourself, more power to you...

Could you dye your hair semi without bleaching it?

some colors are just stains and wil actually get brighter the more you use them with out bleaching. bleaching is bad for yr hair, but its all about how bright you want the color. just look for a veggie based semi dye that will keep yr hair semi healthy after bleaching. good luck!

HAIR DYE DISASTER??? help!!!?

i decided to get my brown hair dyed blonde

the hairdresser said that i could have two different blondes so that it does not look like a block colour.

BUT it looks really stripy.

one is a bleach blone [very bright]

and the other isn't even blonde but a red/brown

i don't mind the seccond colour- but i hate the bleached bits they stand out so much- its really stripy.

My mum says it looks fine, but she would say that as she paid for it! That meens that i can't dye it =[

is there any natural ways without dye that i can use to help fade the blonde or "blend it in" ?

xx

thanks xx

HAIR DYE DISASTER??? help!!!?

If the blonde is bleached then it is not going to strip because your hair is already stripped of color. If you go to the salon and let them know that you are not happy with the color that she made it, they have to fix it at no extra cost to you. Hope this helps hun.

HAIR DYE DISASTER??? help!!!?

No.

sorry.

u hav to dye it.

I think it sounds very hott.

i wanna see it.

i might dye mine like it.

unless it does in fact look stripy.

HAIR DYE DISASTER??? help!!!?

if you go in the sun for a while it will lighten the darker side....... but the best thing would brobably be to bleach both sides and then dye it a color you like or strip all the color from it and then dye it a color you like

HAIR DYE DISASTER??? help!!!?

If you are unhappy with it go back to the stylist that done it. She/ he should be more then happy to fix it for you. They want you to be happy and to continue doing business with you.

HAIR DYE DISASTER??? help!!!?

This happened to me at a very good salon. I was not happy with the results, since it looked like tiger stripes (no kidding).

I just called up and asked to have it corrected to a more subtle appearance and they happily did that. Do make the call right away and be nice, but firm about how you want it changed.

Your idea about highlights and theirs may vary with individual opinions and the trends.

Make sure next time to state "subtle," or stripey and bold. Also, bring in a picture, bc that's worth a thousand words.

Good luck.

What is the best hair dye for covering just a few greys (like 5) that also looks natural? For brown

I really only hair about 5 or 6 grey hairs but they're all up close to the front of my hair and somewhat noticeable. I can't get the hair dye for grey hair because they recommend that you have at least 50% grey and I don't. The hair dyes I've used so far do not cover the grey for more than a few washes. Thanks.

What is the best hair dye for covering just a few greys (like 5) that also looks natural? For brown hair?

This may sound very wierd but get some brown regular mascara (like you use for your eyelashes) and it comes in light and dark brown so find 1 that matches your hair and every morning just sweep it on the 5 or 6 grey hairs starting at the scalp!!

What is the best hair dye for covering just a few greys (like 5) that also looks natural? For brown hair?

I'd just yank out 5 or 6. My friend uses a color touch up pen that is close to her hair color to hide her gray. She got it from a beauty supply store. Hey, if your hair is dark, get a sharpie and color them....seriously!

What is the best hair dye for covering just a few greys (like 5) that also looks natural? For brown hair?

Brown hair dye is the best

What is the best hair dye for covering just a few greys (like 5) that also looks natural? For brown hair?

if you can i would just pluck them out (i dont think that 6 hairs missing would be noticable but i have extremely thick hair so maybe thats just me)..

Hair dye- Will my hair color ever come back to natural if i dont like the colour?

I am a natural light blonde but i want to dye my hair light brown. If i dont like it, will I ever be able to get my natural colour back or will the roots just keep growing out black- i have seen this before. I dont want to keep dying my hair for the rest of my life!

Hair dye- Will my hair color ever come back to natural if i dont like the colour?

You have a hair color now that is a most lovely color . Think before changing it. I always say, if there is doubt, wait until youre sure. bettyk

Hair dye- Will my hair color ever come back to natural if i dont like the colour?

im glad i could be of help. good decision. bettyk Report It

Hair dye- Will my hair color ever come back to natural if i dont like the colour?

to test and see if u like it u can get a rinse that is basicily just hair die that u can wash out and if u just decide to die it she let it grow out or just die back blond

Hair dye- Will my hair color ever come back to natural if i dont like the colour?

I had naturally light blonde hair then i dyed it a dark brown and I found it very difficult to dye my hair back to my natural colour and had to strip the hair colour and dye it close to my natural colour. but your roots wont come out black as I have recently dyed my hair black and I still get blonde roots ( i would not dye your hair black if you dont want to dye your hair for the rest of your life!) my advice is to go the lightest brown you can and see if you like it. goodluck!!!

Hair dye- Will my hair color ever come back to natural if i dont like the colour?

well hair color does not affect your roots. if you color your hair though, the part you colored will never be your natural unless you use color to get it that way. your roots will grow out to be your natural color. if your not sure you should wait.

Can i dye my hair when i just colored it ?

i died my hair yesterday night . my hair color before was light light redish brownish and the roots were dark brown. i chose a hair dye that was brown black and my hair turned out BLACK . it looks ugly on me and i want to die it right away and get a dark brown . should i dye it right away or wait ? HELP

Can i dye my hair when i just colored it ?

Color wont lift color so you will have to use bleach and I wouldnt bleach it yourself...go to a salon or you will be sorry!

Can i dye my hair when i just colored it ?

you should go get it professionally done. if you're going lighter it is very hard to do yourself.

Can i dye my hair when i just colored it ?

iwouldnt do this straight away it will the damage the hair and scalp leave it for atleast a month or 2 before u consider puttin a different colour on top also i wouldnt go for dark brown colour if u want the hair to become lighter u will have 2 buy a dark blonde and it should bring it a brown

hope this helps

Can i dye my hair when i just colored it ?

i dont think it would hurt just condition your hair really good! and prolly keep the blow dryer, curling iron, etc. off you hair a little while to keep it from becoming brittle

Can i dye my hair when i just colored it ?

You can dye it again right away, but people recommend against this because it damages your hair. But if you want to do it asap, I recommend that you just don't wash your hair for a day or two, to get the natural oils to come in (wear a hat or something, I'm sure it's not that bad), and then dye it.

I'd recommend you do a light brown color, or even a light brown with a hint of red in it to get back to the color you originally started at.

If you decide to wait, I'm sure the color will fade a little over time, just use a shampoo that is not specially formulated for colored hair.

Can i dye my hair when i just colored it ?

go to www.clairol.com

They have live consultants you can chat with live and you can ask them exactly what you should do.

You can try washing it with Prell shampoo, this will strip out some of the color and make it fade to a lighter color.

HOWEVER once you dye it dark it is not easy to go to a lighter color. DON'T just try to use a lighter color over it right now as it will damage your hair and just not work anyhow. You are better off letting it fade by washing it, or contacting the clairol hairstylists and getting advice from them on how to change it. When I dyed my hair black, I had to bleach it then redye it light brown.

Can i dye my hair when i just colored it ?

OMG!!! i had the same problemo.

Heres a biography about me...

I was born in Toronto Canada on a dark and stormy night. The shutters on the hostpital window were creaking- open, then closed. I don't remember it too clearly.

When i turned five i attended kindergarten at the Greenfire Academy, but after the first day they kicked me out because i refused to wear my uniform, and i made a poopie and a peepee in my pants. Then i went to the public school. I became BFFL's with a girl named Veronica, she told me that if i put bleach in my hair while i took a shower, it would turn green. Oh how i wanted green hair!!! She knew that it was a dream of mine to have green hair. So i bleached it. And it turned blonde. I despised all blondes, and one night, while Veronica was sleeping, i went into her room (it was a sleepover) i performed a magic spell on her, to turn her into a barbie doll, it's a slow process, but it's working to this day. She's such a bimbo!!! Mwahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahah... NOw, 18b years later, she's still my BFFL... or so she thinks.....

Kool-Aid Hair Dye, Bad Experience?

So earlier tonight I decided to wash, condition, and kool-aid dye my hair using鑱?tropical punch packets... after I put the kool-aid in my hair, for the first time, it started to burn in a few spots in my head but I didn't think nothing of it until I blew dry it and a quite of bit of my hair came out and it was getting harder and harder to blow dry it straight...After I got my hair to stop breaking off and styled it, it looked good and I wanted to do it again without all my hair coming out... How do I put suppose to put the kool-aid in?? I'm pretty sure my way was the way that messed up my head... What name brand kool-aid do I use?? Was I suppose to rinse all that kool-aid out my hair after I put in??鑱?Help

Kool-Aid Hair Dye, Bad Experience?

Mix 2 packets of unsweetened kool-aid with a double quarter-sized dollop of conditioner and put it in wet hair. Wrap your head in plastic wrap and leave it on as long as you can. All day if possible.

Also, smear Vaseline around your forehead and ears to prevent them from turning whatever color you're dyeing it!

Kool-Aid Hair Dye, Bad Experience?

you put it in when you are shampooing with the shampoo first then add kool-aid. After that rinse well. Make sure all is out your head. then you condition your hair.(make sure its good conditioner. Other wise your hair will fall out again).

Peroxide to dye my hair??

I have medium brown hair that goes a little past my shoulders. I want to dye my bangs blonde, but I don't want to buy hair dye. I heard that you can use peroxide to dye your hair, and I wanted to know if that would be a good idea. So, do you think I should use it?

Peroxide to dye my hair??

Noooooooo.. Do not do that. It will turn your hair orange, some spots will be darker, some will be lighter. BAD bad move. If you want your bangs blonde and refuse to go to a salon to have it done, please at LEAST go to walmart and get a little box kit of bleach for around 4-5 dollars. Very affordable, and if you do it with peroxide you wiill be spending more just to fix what has been done! =D I hope that helped! I actually have that hairstyle now %26amp; I would hate for you to jack up your hair! ;-) Good luck hun

Peroxide to dye my hair??

great question.

Peroxide to dye my hair??

NOOOOOO!!!!!

It looks great when you first do it but is very damaging to the hair even if you condition it regularly.

Peroxide to dye my hair??

No, the peroxide will strip you hair color all togther. Don't mess your hair up, go to a salon!

Peroxide to dye my hair??

It will work but not good for your hair.

Peroxide to dye my hair??

NO

Peroxide to dye my hair??

peroxide will turn it orange in such a small area. I would go to a salon to get it done correctly so you don't look like a freak.

Peroxide to dye my hair??

My fried does that to her hair now she is blonde and i think it looks very nice. Just make sure you have someone to help. Hope it goes well!

Peroxide to dye my hair??

Don't do it, you will regret it, I promise. My friend did it in High School (with peroxide and only died her bangs) and 10 years later she still is referred to as "Skunk" it truly truly does look ridiculous.

Peroxide to dye my hair??

done it. you have to go out in the sun with it sprayed on for a couple of days before it'll do anything and then it turns orange, not blonde.

Peroxide to dye my hair??

DON'T DO THAT! That's the best way to damage your hair and you risk it falling right out. Buy a hair dye, there's a reason that they're formulated in such a way by chemists who know what they're doing, but there's no way to measure how much to put in a for how long if you use straight up peroxide!

Peroxide to dye my hair??

Peroxide needs high heat or sun to bleach hair. If you have any red tones in your hair, the result will be reddish blond. Peroxide also dries the hair shaft. Your best bet would be to purchase a highlighting kit to get the results you want on your bangs. These kits usually contain a good conditioner to follow the procedure and the cost is minimal.

Peroxide to dye my hair??

My guess is that the only difference between a hair highlighting kit, and peroxide, is that the kit has directions so that you dont just burn your hair.

If you dont want to buy a kit.

Make sure you try

a couple of dilutions of the peroxide first,

Treat your hair with the most diluted first, then rinse, and see how it worked...if it didnt make it blonde enough, then try the next less diluted mix etc.

Start with 1: 1000 then go to 1: 500, 1: 100. 1: 50, 1:10, 1: 5............

Choose one amount of time for each dilution: say 10 mins.

so you dont burn your hair.

good luck

Peroxide to dye my hair??

No it will ruin your hair. Go to a good salon %26amp; ask to be a model as long as you can say what you want. You will feel 100% better.

Peroxide to dye my hair??

you don't want to do that. buy hair dye, IF you want blonde bangs and brown hair....(i don't know WHY you want that). it's going to look weird...

Peroxide to dye my hair??

I cannot say NO enough. Peroxide will break your hair right off. Then you'll need to buy Rogaine.

Peroxide to dye my hair??

Hydrogen peroxide (aka developer) alone will not lighten hair very well, because of its acidic pH level. It has to be used with an alkaline source to produce a chemical reaction with the color dye and the pigment in the hair strands to lighten hair. PS peroxide out of the medicine cabinet will do very little, it lightens very gradually so you probably wont even see a change right away or even if you do it for a few times. I suggest going to Sally's beauty supply and picking up a bleaching kit it shouldn't cost too much and it will give you a better look than brassy yellow!

Peroxide to dye my hair??

you mean like the hydrogen peroxide you buy at wal-mart in the brown bottle?? NOOOOOOOOO!!!!!! That will Only make your hair brittle.....then you'll have the "NO BANG LOOK"!!

Hey listen~ if you only want your bangs done.....go and find a salon or even let some a gal at a cosmetology school do them...they are supervised with instructors and they will do a good job.......my daughter is in cosmetology school, and that's how they learn ...but they are supervised.......it won't cost you much either way if you go to a salon or school just to do your bang area....and trust me....color is NOT for the beginner who knows not much about hair color!!!!!!!!!

Hope this helps!

TinaB

Peroxide to dye my hair??

If you use peroxide chances are it will turn a coppery colour, not blond. I don't recommend it. Peroxide can be really hard on your hair. If you do go ahead with it make sure you condition your hair afterwords with a really good conditioner, maybe even a leave in.

Most hair bleaches will lighten your hair in the following stages: Black, brown, red, orange, yellow blond, light blond. Pure hydrogen peroxide tends to lighten hair in grey stages instead of yellows, but is harsher on your skin and hair.

Peroxide to dye my hair??

no dont do it my friend did it once and her hair started to fall out so i would advice you not to do it that way

Peroxide to dye my hair??

Peroxide turns dark hair orange.

Peroxide to dye my hair??

peroxide is only to mix with colours not to put on your hair on its own trust me im a hairdresser.dont do it

Peroxide to dye my hair??

NNNNNNNNNNNOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!...

your hair is going to fall ..
