Removing black hair dye using a mixture of bleach + shampoo. hair bleach or household bleach ? :S?

i'm using a mixture of a small amount of bleach + 2 tbps shampoo to help remove my permanent black hair dye.

is that household bleach or hair bleach?

i just found it off some hair website.

i'm confused :S

is it even safe for removing black hair dye?

Removing black hair dye using a mixture of bleach + shampoo. hair bleach or household bleach ? :S?

just use color strip/

Removing black hair dye using a mixture of bleach + shampoo. hair bleach or household bleach ? :S?

Do not put household bleach in your hair it will burn you head. You should probably go to a professional for that. They will have to strip your hair.

Removing black hair dye using a mixture of bleach + shampoo. hair bleach or household bleach ? :S?

If they said it on a website, it must be ok, and since they didnt specify what type of bleach to use, it must mean that its ok to use any kind. I would just fire it all on, you will be fine!

Removing black hair dye using a mixture of bleach + shampoo. hair bleach or household bleach ? :S?

dont do this on your own - go to a hairdresser - if you get this wrong you will end up looking like orange and damaged like worsel gumage or bald like right said fred.

Removing black hair dye using a mixture of bleach + shampoo. hair bleach or household bleach ? :S?

Yes, there is a way to remove black hair dye, BUT DON'T USE BLEACH!!!! YOU COULD LOSE YOUR EYESIGHT!!!!

The best thing I have found is Loreal Color Zapper. I've tried other products, but the Loreal is the gentlest. Beware though, that removing hair dye means completely stripping your hair color. You'll have to find a dye close to your original hair color if that's what you want to go back to. My personal favorite has been Revlon - I love their conditioner! But if you have a favorite that works for you, that is cool too! JUST DON'T USE BLEACH!!!!!!

Removing black hair dye using a mixture of bleach + shampoo. hair bleach or household bleach ? :S?

your one crazy lady to use household bleach!

Removing black hair dye using a mixture of bleach + shampoo. hair bleach or household bleach ? :S?

Pertolsationguy 'If they said it on a website it must be OK'????!!!!

ARE YOU CRAZY!

It's safe to stick your tongue in a live electrical socket.

I've said that on a website , so it must be OK.

Don't believe everything you read on a website.

Removing black hair dye using a mixture of bleach + shampoo. hair bleach or household bleach ? :S?

Use a color stripper, go tho a hair dresser to remove the colour or use peroxide. All types of removal will damage your hair. Do not use household stuff on your head. You will probably do more harm than good.

Removing black hair dye using a mixture of bleach + shampoo. hair bleach or household bleach ? :S?

please don't put household bleach near your head,u will do serious damage.if you are going to do this at home you need to buy a bottle of pre lightener, but test a little on your scalp first to see if it burns or leaves a rash,if it doesn't u can proceed. you may have to go to a hairdresser to have it done properly especially if your hair is very dark but whatever u do do not put household bleach please .good luck xxxxxx

Removing black hair dye using a mixture of bleach + shampoo. hair bleach or household bleach ? :S?

Dont use household bleach!, You can buy hair bleach from the chemist to remove dark colour or seek advise from a hair dresser.

Removing black hair dye using a mixture of bleach + shampoo. hair bleach or household bleach ? :S?

Eh..I wouldn't use any of the stuff...You do realize that the bleach won't work(as you have to let it process), and if it did, It'd turn your hair Blond..and the house hold bleach...I'm not even gonna go there...Ethier recolor or strip your hair..

Removing black hair dye using a mixture of bleach + shampoo. hair bleach or household bleach ? :S?

Never, ever put bleach on your hair!!! Go to a salon and get your hair done. It's worth every penny and you'll be happy with the results. I've tried many drug store hair coloring kits and end up having to go to a salon to have them fix it. Good Luck!

Removing black hair dye using a mixture of bleach + shampoo. hair bleach or household bleach ? :S?

hair bleach. it's a powder. it has to be mixed with developer to work.

1 oz. powder bleach

1 oz. developer

1 oz. shampoo

1 oz. destilled water

remember that it will lighten faster at the root/scalp area of the hair so start at the middle, go to the ends then the scalp area

Removing black hair dye using a mixture of bleach + shampoo. hair bleach or household bleach ? :S?

if it came with the shampoo then it will be hair beach and not household beach

and pleae don't use household bleach your hair will never be the same

Removing black hair dye using a mixture of bleach + shampoo. hair bleach or household bleach ? :S?

no no no no no no

you need colour correction where ur hair wud b bleached with hair bleach to strip the colour - this shud only be done at home as home kits do not contain a high enough level of peroxide to remove the colour....

Hot topic hair dye??

ive got brown hair and i wanna get light pink highlights. if i use the hair dye from hot topic will it show up in my hair??

they dye seems so dark ans since i want it to be a very light pink i was thinking that i would turn out lighter beacuse of my dark hair. i rely dont wanna bleach my hair...

Am i totally wrong or will this acctually work??

Hot topic hair dye??

My friend uses that but its not permanent it washes out if you wash your hair. She has black hair so it will work for brown too.

Hot topic hair dye??

i went through the same thing, its crappy. i wouldnt use it, for dark hair it gives it a red ton, and washes out quick, even though it says permanent. and when you bleach it, its briggght pink for a couple days, then redish, then gone. its horrible stuff, i must say.

Stripping Auburn Hair Dye out of Natural Blonde Hair?

What is the process to make it go back to the original color?

I have bra strap length hair with layers, medium thin hair. It still has decent elasticity minus the split ends which are due for a trim. I have been dyeing it for 2 and 1/2 years and I am sick of having to dye my hair every month just to keep it from turning orange. Please help

I am going to Cactus Salon, but am trying to get a general idea of what they will have to do to my hair and what the step by step process is.

Stripping Auburn Hair Dye out of Natural Blonde Hair?

i had the same problem. i asked the salon for highlights and have them tint the regrowth every month. it is a long process but doesn't damage your hair as much as peroxiding it will do. i also asked for light brown streaks between the blonde highlights.

Stripping Auburn Hair Dye out of Natural Blonde Hair?

I've had my hair a dark brown and wanted it blonde again and they just pulled blonde highlights through it. I've only heard of hair getting the color stripped if someone had light blonde who dyed it black, but i could be wrong.

Stripping Auburn Hair Dye out of Natural Blonde Hair?

the dreaded bleach is usually what they will use to stip your hair of its color. They may use a toner after to soften the blonde. I wouldn't expect (or want) to go too blonde right away because it will definitely take some damage and you may end up with straw for hair. Ask for a conditioning treatment after the color (may cost you an extra ten bux but worth it). Be sure to express your concerns with your hairdresser. If you're not happy with it, say something.

Stripping Auburn Hair Dye out of Natural Blonde Hair?

you definitely need pro help!!!

Is permantent hair dye ok for hair?.?

I just dyed my hair with a semi permanent from blonde to red. and i love it. I really want to use a permanent. Because it would look better. What does permanent dye do to your hair, i've heard it ruins hair, and im only 13 soo i don't need my hair falling out or anything. And is there any way to get that stuff out?

Is permantent hair dye ok for hair?.?

I'm 37 years old and have never used semi-permanent. Started messing with colour around your age.

Semi-permanent seems like you are renting a hair colour... not getting your money's work.

It is permanent, so you need to be sure about it. You can over-dye it later, but when you look on the box for a new colour, do not look at your original hair colour but the current colour. I don't know how that works for blue and green hair, but for normal colours it is fairly accurate.

I would not recommend continual redying -- do it every 3 or 4 months at most. That means don't go to much lighter than your natural colour, because you'll have big ugly tacky roots.

BTW, at 13 years old, I would suggest not doing an all-over dye job, but just strips. Us old ladies do that to hide the grey. Stripping it is more fun, and won't make you look like you are "trying so hard", and you won't have to do it so often because roots show less.

Is permantent hair dye ok for hair?.?

it wont damage your hair if you dye it a few times. but once you start its hard to stop. so be careful.

Is permantent hair dye ok for hair?.?

no it dont unless you leave it in too long i do it all the time~!!

Is permantent hair dye ok for hair?.?

If your going to get your hair permanantly died red I highly suggest you go to a beauty styliest who knows exactly what they are doing. If or when you get it done %26amp; you don't like it you can go %26amp; ask for the hair coloring to be "stripped."

Sincerly,

Is permantent hair dye ok for hair?.?

Permanent hair dye is okay as long as you don't use it too much I've heard of a person who dyed their hair so many times with permanent hair dye that it fell out. Permanent hair dye only comes out when you grow it out that means when your hair grows longer than the area the dye covers.

Is permantent hair dye ok for hair?.?

I started dying my hair when I was 14, now I'm 21 and I still have it all. I dye my hair about every 3 months, highlights, low lights...the works. If you go to a professional salon, they should be using dye without ammonia. The ammonia is what dries out hair. Since you have blonde hair, the red is going to fade so you're going to need to keep up with it. Use shampoos and conditioners for your hair type and color. John Frieda makes color glaze that will keep the red from fading. Have fun, just make sure you consult with a professional before going permanent.

Is permantent hair dye ok for hair?.?

Hmmm well I am now 32. When i was 13 I started dying my hair bleach blonde. I was 18 before I saw a picture %26amp; wondered why no one told me how horrible it looked. And now since I was about 24/25 yrs old I have been dying my hair red once a month for nearly 10 yrs. Dying your hair isn't bad unless you have a perdisposition for alopetia (hair loss).

If you do it monthly or every other month, use a rat tail comb to seperate that the root %26amp; only do the roots for 20 minutes...then comb it threw to the ends of your hair the last 5.

You can also dye eyebrows, however the time limit is about 10 to 15 minutes on those.

Is permantent hair dye ok for hair?.?

any permanent hair color damages your hair. It lifts the cuticle, dries it out and can cause breakage. There is no easy way to remove it, and you'll never remove all of the color. Most color removers are terrible on hair and can make bad matters worse. Not to mention removal will cost about 3 times the color job did. that being siad your hair won't fall out unless you over process it. The peroxide (developer) will fizzel out and it will just stop getting darker or lighter wich ever the case may be. So follow your directions to the letter or let a pro do it.

The semi perm color you used is going to need touched up and will leave a line. It just fades faster. for safe hair coloring i would use a temporary color (washes out in about 8 weeks) you can only go darker but it's safe for the hair.

Is permantent hair dye ok for hair?.?

You can dye your hair with a permanent color and it won't fall out. I would wait until the present color fades a little. Reds are the colors that fade the quickest. Depending on the shade of red you use it will fade into a brown (darker reds), copper (medium shades) or orange tints ( lighter shades). You didn't say if you are a natural blonde but understand that your roots will be light if you are a medium blonde. The permanent will fade after six to eight weeks and you can color over it. To return to your original color may take some time as if you are a natural blonde it has been colored darker not lighter so you may have to consult a stylist there. Better yet look on clairol.com for a consultant or look on the box of any clairol product like ultress and call it. They will help you.

Is permantent hair dye ok for hair?.?

i wouldnt recomend it because its impsible to get out, it damages your hair and you have to constantly dye ur hair. ive made that mistake before!

I need to remove black hair dye from my hair? HELP!!?

I want to straighten my hair- also called relaxing or a reverse perm. Unfortunately my hair is dyed. I haven't dyed my hair for a year or so now, but it won't grow out quickly enough. You see they can't put the chemicals in your hair for straightening when you have dye or bleach in it because it causes a chemical reaction that begins smoking. How do I remove my dark hair dye, without bleach?

I need to remove black hair dye from my hair? HELP!!?

You can't do it ; it has to grow out. You can forgo the hair straightening and go to a pofessional who can get rid of the black. Don't try it yourself your hair will just break off.

I need to remove black hair dye from my hair? HELP!!?

Shampoo your hair with this mixture, "kneading" the hair. Start at the roots and work your way down to the end, and then back up.

You should see the color disappear right before your eyes.

Black hair dye is a special case.

It's very hard to remove black hair dye from your hair completely, especially if it's permanent. Better to let it grow out and not bleach it. Bleaching with chemicals damages the hair it may make it so stretchy and thin that it comes out in your comb.

Likewise if black hair dye stains skin or fabric. The best way is to prevent it from staining in the first place by applying Vaseline around the hairline before dyeing.

If black hair dye stains fabric then using detergent and water quickly is a good idea - otherwise dry cleaning may be required.

Black hair dye stains can also be removed by rubbing cigarette ash over the stained skin, dipping milk in cotton balls and rubbing over the stained area, rubbing on WD-40 or even nail polish remover or hair spray.

I need to remove black hair dye from my hair? HELP!!?

try John Freda's shampoo and conditioner Sheer Blonde. my friend who has black hair used it and quickly changed it to blonde.

I need to remove black hair dye from my hair? HELP!!?

The only other way to do it would be to strip your hair of that color.. Even that won't remove all of the color, and it is terrible on your hair. If you have brittle hair, it will fall out. I would wait until your hair grows out.

I need to remove black hair dye from my hair? HELP!!?

Honestly, I hate to say this, but there is no other option.

If anything, I would go to your hair stylist and see what they can do.

I need to remove black hair dye from my hair? HELP!!?

go to hottopic.com and get the 'white out' it's not bleach, it works for me.

i dye my hair all differnt colors and this works all the time.

BUT, if you smoke, DO NOT use this white out **** while you are smoking, trust me, its VERY bad, i set my smoke down in this **** and it like all the sudden set on fire and like set this toiel in my bathroom on fire, so, yeah, dont smoke while you are doing tht.

anyways! DONT smoke at ALL. i'm 15 and i smoke, its stupid, DONT

Go to a professional stylist and ask them. They may tell you you have to wait for your hair to grow out.

I need to remove black hair dye from my hair? HELP!!?

i made the mistake of dying my hair black and tried EVERYTHING to get it out but the only option was to get it bleached. its not that bad really, you can ask the stylist about products to revive your hair and walla normal hair

I need to remove black hair dye from my hair? HELP!!?

Use green shampoo, any brand. My hair stylist told me about this over a year ago, when I bleached my hair and the blue dye I put in turned greenish. Something in the chemical in the green dye eats away at the fake hair color, but won't change your natural color. It really worked, too!

Blonde Temporary Hair Dye...?

my hair is like an amberish color.....i want to put blonde temporary hair dye in my hair but im scared it might ruin my hair color and i realllyyyy dont want that to happen....please answer me.....and i also need help finding temporary hair dye and spray....

Blonde Temporary Hair Dye...?

Visit Sally Beauty Supply - they carry salon quality products and the temporary spray that they have is safe %26amp; won't ruin your hair.

You can make your hair look white by adding baby powder to it, also.

Blonde Temporary Hair Dye...?

woll make it brassy, and it will not fade. if it was darker on lighter, it could fade, but lighter doesn't fade like that. you will make your hair brassy, and dry!!!!! Go to a professional

Blonde Temporary Hair Dye...?

ok with hair dye if your hair is natually darker than the color you want you need to bleach your hair and yes it will damage your hair all dyes damage your hair but it is true bleach is the worse. But if this is your first time dying and you want to use just the blond the only thing that will happen it that your hair coolor will go a little lighter but if this isn't your first time dying your hair the color will go straight to your roots and not any other part of your hair because it already had dye on it and will make your hair a disater. But if you want to be blond you have to bleach first...

Make black hair dye fade of removed?

Last night i dyed my hair natural black by loreal feria permanant level 3. It didn't come out as i pictured it. My hair is naturally dark brown and my hair looks like a wig. i DO NOT want to go get it bleached or stripped out because i dont want to damage my hair any more. So after a week or so of everyday shampooing of head and shoulders will the extremely Black hair dye fade to light black?

Make black hair dye fade of removed?

No. I've done that and its there for good. There is not a lot you can do except get it stripped. you cannot dye over it and it does not wash out.

Make black hair dye fade of removed?

When I had dyed black hair, the dye came out in the shower ever time I shampooed, but it never seemed to be getting any lighter. It seemed to fade a TINY bit when I would use extra clarifying shampoo, but otherwise black is a jerk to try and get out without bleaching. Good luck!

Make black hair dye fade of removed?

Yep! Thats what I use, and the very next day I totally look like a Barbie doll. But by the end of the week I look all naturally raven haired and diva-ish so don't stress (and certainly don't bleach)

Make black hair dye fade of removed?

Try washing it with Pert, it will remove color, may take a week or more. Works for me.

Make black hair dye fade of removed?

It will fade eventually. you're probably gonna go a week before you see any improvement. you have to learn how your hair absorbs color. when I dye mine dark brown, it looks black for a week. Next time go a shade or two lighter than you think you will need.

Make black hair dye fade of removed?

I dyed my hair with that exact same hair color and brand. It was very dark and fake looking at first. After washing it daily, it did begin to look more natural and less shocking. However, it still remained very dark. Since your natural color is dark brown, it wouldn't be that bad trying to grow it out.. it would probably blend nicely.

I want to dye my hair dark brown, whats a natural looking brand i could buy?

I have dyed black hair, (ive been dying it for a while) but i only re-dye it when it starts to fade, which usually take 2 months to get back to my original light brown color, that is if i shampoo every other day, as aposed to every day.

I want dark brown hair, like Miley Cyrus. I know how to dye my hair, and if I need extra help, my mom helps me.

this is the EXACT color I want:

http://buzznet-02.vo.llnwd.net/assets/us...

does anyone know a hair dye brand I can use that has that color, and that looks natural, rather than just one plane tone?

thanks xoxo

I want to dye my hair dark brown, whats a natural looking brand i could buy?

Check the beauty supply stores. Some of them sell their merchandise to people other than professionals, if you pay a small annual fee. They will have the best quality products available, and they are less expensive than grocery stores or Wal Mart. You can also purchase larger amounts for less than the smaller amounts would be in other stores. Purchase the hair color you want, a bottle of developer, a plastic bottle to mix it in, and some laytex gloves. Your hair color will also last longer if you purchase these products as opposed to regular hair dye kits. I use to dye my hair black and it never faded. There are many other items available in the beauty supply stores. You will love it.

I want to dye my hair dark brown, whats a natural looking brand i could buy?

go to a store, where they sell salon products. it will last longer and look better. you should find the color you want there. you can also mix it to get the exact color you want.

I want to dye my hair dark brown, whats a natural looking brand i could buy?

I have found this Feria shade to come out really nice:

It isn't bland %26amp; uses your natural undertones to give you a natural look.

I want to dye my hair dark brown, whats a natural looking brand i could buy?

you should try Loreal or Nice and easy colours, they have different shades of brown, Loreal also some lights in the dye too.

Hair dye burns when I use it.?

The last few times I've used Natural Instincts hair dye, my scalp burned so I rinsed it out. Does anyone know of a good hair dye that has fewer chemicals? I can't afford to have this done at a salon right now. I just need to get rid of some gray. I have brown hair. Thanks!

Hair dye burns when I use it.?

I've used Natural Instincts before and it burned my scalp too. I use Revlon and it doesn't burn and it works really well.

Hair dye burns when I use it.?

try a spray on that washes off easily for now ?

Hair dye burns when I use it.?

you're not actually supposed to put the dye on your scalp. read the directions. They specifically tell you not to get the dye on your scalp... and how not to do it. Get someone to help you with it.

Hair dye burns when I use it.?

have you got dandruff or itch your scalp? it could be because of this . it has happened to me before.

Hair dye burns when I use it.?

that's because some colors contain high amounts of ammonia.

Try using a semi permanent color its a lot less harsh on your hair and scalp.

Hair dye burns when I use it.?

Make sure you are not washing your hair close to when your are applying color. If you brush your hair make sure you don't get your scalp too much. you don't want to stimulate your scalp before color. Also, you can try putting a packet of sweet and low or equal into the color. Its supposed to take the sting out and not hurt the color.

Hair dye burns when I use it.?

Hi there i had that trouble with a few, i went to boots and read all of the packets and pciked boots own make, i have to say the best one ever didnt even feel it was on its around 鎷?.99 a pack and was really good. Its made from natural things so hardly any chemicals are used! Its in a green packet with the colour hair running through. If your going to try it let me know and ill find the name for you!

Hair dye burns when I use it.?

then you should use a nother kind of dye

Henna hair dye: red?

I have dark blonde hair and currently dye the tips with red L'Oreal Color Pulse. I love the color, but it washes out wayyyy too quickly. Looking in to henna options, and hoping for a dark to primary red (the color, not the natural hair color, if that makes sense). Anyone used any kind of henna dye before? How'd that go?

I hear it takes ages and such, but I'm okay with that if it'll last.

I'm hoping to use a paste as opposed to something I'd have to mix with various ingredients.

Currently considering this: Surya Nature - Henna Cream Hair Coloring with Natural Extracts (Red)

Much as I hate to order hair care off the internet.

Henna hair dye: red?

Henna is subtler but it lasts. Not so great for covering the grays. Why dont you try some hair thats hidden and test strand it.

On recommendation from my hairdresser I switched to Kerastase Bain Mirror shampoo. My color has been lasting ALOT longer. Plus I am sometimes only washing the roots and not the whole strand of hair. Hope that helps you.

Henna hair dye: red?

anything that is a commercial product, cream hair color is not really henna.

Use pure 100 % henna powder you mix yourself for beautiful color and ease, and safe and natural.

Try it, you will like it.

Henna hair dye: red?

I know buying off the internet can be risky sometimes but usually can be a great experience. The best henna suppliers are found online or locally if they live near you.

I really suggest you visit this website to get more henna related information, it is amazing there:

http://chatter.thebeautybottle.com/forum...

I do recommend you really use good henna products such as body art quality henna powder to get the color you'd like.

Cream color isn't as strong either, it is diluted a bit. So please go to that website I recommend above as it is a very helpful forum

Hope this helps!

Henna hair dye: red?

If you try Henna, only use Body Art Quality Henna. Anything bought in a grocery/health food store may not be safe. If you don't want to buy off the Internet, then try an Indian store. I tried Reshma Henna bought from the Indian store recently and it was very high quality. The red color turned out beautiful. (Note: The girl on the box has black hair, but the hair really turns out red.)

Hair dye thats healthy? merci!?

L'Oreal. Semi-permanent gradually fades off. Stay away from Nice %26amp; Easy. It's junk. It has a metallic base and as it fades, the tones are really weird. Never, never, use Sun-In. That is the absolute worse hair product ever. It should be taken off the market.

try natural instincts

with all dyes your roots with grow out so try using root touchup

Hair dye thats healthy? merci!?

all hair dyes are not good for the hair, try to find something that is natural as possible like natral instincts but still if there is a warning that you can have a reaction to the stuff then its not that natural and will still damage hair....

Hair Dye Problem???? easy 10 points!!?

I put a dark blondish rinse in my hair, and I don't like it that much. My original colour is golden brown with a bit of red from previous semi-permanent dye... should I re-dye my hair to its original colour with a semi-permanent dye just to get the brown colour/tint back?

Hair Dye Problem???? easy 10 points!!?

Yes you should. That way, when it grows back no one can tell the difference between your hair and the hair dye. Over time, your hair will be back to its original shade again! Yay =]

yes :)

Hair Dye Problem???? easy 10 points!!?

Please please please go to a salon and let someone else do it....There is too much color going on here, they can get it right, and you dont have the headache of messing with it!!

Hair Dye Problem???? easy 10 points!!?

no, if you just dyed it you should wait 2-3 months. Also after a few washes the colour fades alitle making it look lighter.

Hair Dye Problem???? easy 10 points!!?

there is a number on a box.....call that and the representative will tell you two buy two hair colors that will give you the exact result you would like....hope this helps

yes.

if you don't really know the undertones of the dyes you are putting in your hair it could make your problem even worse.

i would recommend going to a salon and getting them to check it out and see what they can do for you. they could most likely fix the problem at a reasonable price and will at least get the results you want.

A good hair dye that wont ruin my hair?

Loreal Natural Match is the best drugstore color.

A good hair dye that wont ruin my hair?

whatever your hair color is die that color so know one can notice!

WHICH hair dye COLOR should i use on BLACK hair...? streaks?????

I'm planning to use special effects hair dye and don't no wat colors to use...i am probably going to have streaks...

my hair is black and since i wanna do streaks and possibly try one that glows soo...which color would be suitable for me...?

WHICH hair dye COLOR should i use on BLACK hair...? streaks?????

I like the pink color for blk hair the only thing is you will most likely have to bleach the strands first for the color to show up!

WHICH hair dye COLOR should i use on BLACK hair...? streaks?????

I would go with a dark red or bluish tones. Definitely not green.

WHICH hair dye COLOR should i use on BLACK hair...? streaks?????

purple all the way... i'd go with virgin rose.

Maybe pink, if you're more into it;]

p.s. I think it looks really cool when people get peiced layers, then do two thick stripes of color underneath each layer, one on each side, on each layer.

just a thought;]

Ok please help... hair dye!?

ok ive just dyed my friends hair using the hair dye brand 'nice'n'easy', her hairs naturally dark brown and were tryin to dye it a dark blonde.. weve followed the instructions completely dye-rinse-moisturise-rinse-styled and left to dry...

but its not changed colour at all!!

how long does it usually take for the dye to take effect??

will it change colour as it dries

Ok please help... hair dye!?

Dye is an immediate thing. It doesn't need to cook. My thought is this, either she has virgin hair meaning that she's never chemically treated her hair, or there was something done wrong. If she has naturally dark brown hair and is trying to go to a blonde you will need to use a developer with lift. The developer is the creamy white stuff that comes in the box of dye. Your best bet is to lift the hair (bleach it) and then put color on top of it. Lorel Mega blondes is good. but I don't think you're going to get the desired effect that you are looking for with standard box dye. you will prob end up with her having brassy red hair.

Ok please help... hair dye!?

Nope, should of changed colour by now,, im pretty sure you use a medium blonde to get dirty blonde hair

Ok please help... hair dye!?

how long did you leave the dye in for, if you rinsed right after you put it in you probably washed it all out, you have to let it sit for w/e the box says,

if it dries you might notice it, but you probably messed up somewhere by the sounds of it

ROUND 2

Ok please help... hair dye!?

when i did myne i had to blow drye myne for it to be a different colour but if you didn't leave it in for at least 5 minutes it won't change!:)

hope i helped!

Ok please help... hair dye!?

is it a permanent dye, as these temporary dyes don't take, if you are going lighter. If you want lighter hair it has to be a permenant one.

Ok please help... hair dye!?

dark hair is hard to dye blonde , its needs some kind of bleach in it to take affect but go to the hair dressres as it could dry out if your not careful,, good luck

Ok please help... hair dye!?

Most of the time i leave the dye in longer than they say to, so the dye gives more affect, and more time to soak in. Then after that just rinse the dye out until the water runs clean, then massage in the conditioner they provide you with, this way your hair will smell nice and be soft! Afterwards just blow dry your hair to see the results. Although i can't guarantee that the dye will have worked since you're going from darker to lighter. However, good luck!

Ok please help... hair dye!?

Nice and easy will not lighten your hair. You have to get a professional permanent bleach to lighten dark brown hair or it will turn orange. You should be glad it did'nt work because getting orange out of hair is nearly impossible. I would go to a stylist if I were you. Going from dark to blond is hard to do even if it is done professionally. So doing it yourself would be nearly impossible if you have no experience with coloring.

Ok please help... hair dye!?

Hey in my experience , 2 go lighter u should've used a pre-lightener kit.. all the best..

Ok please help... hair dye!?

you can't dye darkj hair blonde with a semi perminant dye. it will say so on the box. a few weeks ago i dyed my hair from light drown to red with natural instincts. on the directions it says... natural instincts will only bring out/add darker color. for a lighter effect, use a permanent product

Ok please help... hair dye!?

My hair was a dark black to get it to be Auburn I had to keep dying it every 6-8 weeks and what I do is leave the dye in my hair longer then 15 minutes I leave it in my hair for about 30 to 35 minutes and my hair comes out great after that I put a deep conditioner in it and my hair is soft and beautiful. I got these steps from my hair stylist

Ok please help... hair dye!?

Nice and Easy is rubbish for going lighter, you need to be already quite light haired for them to work, as others have said if you are dark haired you need to pre lighten, Born Blonde do a pre lightner that doesnt wreck your hair, it basically strips out the natural colour of your hair and then you dye your hair the shade you want.

Ok please help... hair dye!?

when it comes to going lighter the shop brands are just not strong enough,in a shop we use high strength peroixeds to lift colours.

Ok please help... hair dye!?

The dye will not work on her hair because her hair is darker than the dye. She will need to lighten her hair first by bleaching it then use the color dye. I would suggest going to a professional to get the bleach done, since this is somewhat difficult if your new to the whole bleaching process.

Ok please help... hair dye!?

about 30min.

Ok please help... hair dye!?

the semi colour will not lighten the hair, and u should Never leave any colour on longer then the instructions state, as it will damage the hair very badly, the only way u are going to be able to lighten the hair is to have it done professionally, no it will not change colour as the products dry,

Ok please help... hair dye!?

Hair can not be lightened with semi-permanent color. It can only be darkened, or toned. The problem now is that her hair is no longer virgin hair. If you tried to do it again, but with a permanent color this time. You may really wish you hadn't. Also box color is very unpredictable. They sell the same color to so many different people with different hair textures, colors, levels of porosity, and damage. And they sell the lowest volume (or power) of peroxide that they can, to the public, to avoid lawsuits from peoples hair falling out.(probably 10 Vol.) So if she has drk. brn. hair, and she wants it to be drk. blond, that would need a lot more than 10 vol. to get her hair to that level. Her hair would probably end up looking like orange Fanta. All I can say is that there is a reason hairstylists have to have a license to do hair. Best of luck!

Ok please help... hair dye!?

the dye usually takes effect straight away.

you need to wait while it dries because your hair is ten times darker when wet. you might find the colour wasnt dark enough. if youre not satisfied then i would complain to the manufacturers

Hair dye issues... please help!?

I'm 16, a sophomore in high school. I've been blonde my entire life, but my hair fades to a darker blonde in the winter. I've dyed it lighter because i hate having 'half/half' hair when spring rolls around. Since I dyed it a lighter shade of blonde, i suppose what is my natural color, is showing at my roots, which i cannot stand. I need help deciding what color to dye it... I was thinking a light brown/dark blonde. but either way, it would be a life change for me. Can anyone offer any suggestions? I'd appreciate it.

Hair dye issues... please help!?

Have some bleach blond highlights!!!

I have a question regarding hair dye and chemical burns to the scalp?

I got my hair dyed last year from black (my natural color) to blonde.it did not turn blonde, but a really ugly straw yellow. within one week, the stylist kept dying my hair, leaving the dye on my head for long periods of time, having me believe that if i left it longer itll change to my desired shade.unfortunately it did not happen.i felt so much pain on my scalp,a terrible burning feeling, that i asked them to rinse out the dye ASAP.it was dyed liked this for one week, about 2-3 times each visit, and about 4-5 visits within that week.i went home and i could start picking scabs off my scalp, little ones and also pieces of skin that was coming off the scalp at the hair root.so basically the piece of skin i picked off had a hole in the middle indicating where the hair grew through.there were many pieces of this, and so i went to the salon and just asked them to dye my hair back to normal which they did.i am wondering if there are any short term or long term damages to my scalp now. thanks.

I have a question regarding hair dye and chemical burns to the scalp?

You should be ok. Next time do foil highlights.

I have a question regarding hair dye and chemical burns to the scalp?

You had an allergic reaction that bruned your scalp. I gather she didn't give you a patch test 48 hrs before the colour treatment?

I have a question regarding hair dye and chemical burns to the scalp?

The biggest problem is when the hairdresser uses fake dye (knowingly or unknowingly).

Some can cause cancer.

I had terrible headaches. I saw a doctor - and maybe you should too.

My solution is to go grey gacefully (and keep my spiderman mask on).

Hair Dye Problems!?

So, i've tried like every kinda hair dye out there and STILL nothing will come close to my natural hair color. About 4 years ago i dyed my hair with blonde highlights...now i just want my natural dark brown back but i keep ending up with like...a light gold tinted brown.

Stop dying or is there a product that actually works and stays!?!?

Hair Dye Problems!?

EITHER GO TO A PROFESSIONAL SALON OR ...

SALLYS BEAUTY SUPPLY AND THEY WILL HELP YOU FIND A COLOR THAT MATCHES YOUR NATURAL COLOR.

YOU PROBABLY NEED A LEVEL 4 AND YOU PROBABLY NEED AN BLUE OR VIOLET BASE TO GET RID OF THE BRASSY COLOR

Hair Dye Problems!?

Try using a really ashy brown, it won't turn out so gold coloured.

Hair Dye Problems!?

quit dying it.

it will grow back :]

get trims and it should be fine.

Hair Dye Problems!?

If those Store products don't work, have it done professionally at a salon :]]] or my fave, Sally's Beauty Supply, they have all kinds at good prices, plus they'll work with you to find your true match.

Hair Dye Problems!?

Once you've started coloring your hair, you can't stop. It will never be just "natural" again. Best thing to do is to color it every few months, just to keep it touched up and be the color you want it to be. I know what you mean. I color my hair dark brown every few months if not longer, just because it gets so light. During the summer, it gets really light, a lot faster. I've used Nice N Easy and Garnier. Those are both good brands. Don't use Color Silk, and nothing with "ash" in it.

Hair Dye Problems!?

Unless you use Henna then all tints (ie permanent hair colours) use peroxide soooooo even when you chose a dark shade it will lighten with washes and sun exposure as it grows out. Use a semi-permanent colour and the highlights and the tints will grow out eventually. Top up the colour on the ends and mid-lengths only as it lightens between applications. You will have to do this every 3-4 weeks. Your ends and mid-lengths will lighten first because they will contain the bleach from your highlights and previous tints and are the dryest and have been exposed to the elements for the longest time. Make sense?

Hair Dye Problems!?

Ok, for starters the hair that you highlighted is your problem, if you use only ash brown when you color your hair dark brown I am guessing a level 5 your highlights will be green, not very attractive, understand when you take the pigment out of hair, keep in mind when you want to put it back, you have to put both gold and ash. I would tell you to refer to your color wheel, but you wouldn't know what i am talking about. I would suggest semi or demi permanent color, I think you might be using a permanent color. that may be why you are getting a light gold brown, the color is lifting as well as depositing, you only need deposit, although demi lifts enough to open the cuticle so that your color last longer ,with very little notice of regrowth. I suggest the nearest salon, but if you plan on doing it yourself good luck keep in mind neutral would be my choice.

Should i dye my hair brown?

i like dying my hair. my natural color is boring. its like a shade lighter then black (maybe too) its like as dark as brown can go. so i dont really like it too much. i wouldnt go blonde though. the roots would show bad and i would look weird.

this is sorta my natura color : http://s194.photobucket.com/albums/z241/...

thats whe i like just turned 13. but now i'm 14 and my mom can care less if i dye my hair. she wants me to go blonde lol.

this is me with red hair: http://s194.photobucket.com/albums/z241/...

and this is a diffrent red color: http://s194.photobucket.com/albums/z241/...

my hairs kinda tat color now. what color should i try next? i wanna try like honey brown. but it wouldnt show up on my hair it would go red and darkish. is there like a good brand that doesnt fade quickly? i want like hard core hair dye.

thanks!

Should i dye my hair brown?

I like the first and last 2 pics of you. Very nice colors. I know what you mean about hair color, I can't stop changing mine. I dye it dark, then want highlights, then get sick of them and dye it again. My hair has been EVERY color but silver. I will wait until I am old for that!

Should i dye my hair brown?

i actually really like the last red on you, it fites you well...but that just my opinion

Should i dye my hair brown?

mm i think you looked better with black hair, but I think a nice shiny dark brown will work too. But definitely not the red color

Should i dye my hair brown?

i think you should and brown is okay mabe brown and gold highlights would look good on you

Should i dye my hair brown?

your messing up your hair soon you will turn bold like britney spears then you can change your hair color(by wearing wigs)..the first and last pik you look nice but the middle doesnt go with you..good luck

Should i dye my hair brown?

i think you looked the best with your natural hair color.

Should i dye my hair brown?

Give your self high lights it does more for you then dying sometimes ..i have done it for years! You can use several different shades it will be beautiful!

Should i dye my hair brown?

I think either way it does not matter i mean you are really pretty

Should i dye my hair brown?

the last brown looked really nice. If you look at the picture it matches your eye color, and it looks very beautiful =-)

Should i dye my hair brown?

maybe some highlights that would look pretty..

Should i dye my hair brown?

Well, dying hair is part of the fad but what I would like to suggest is ... natural is beautiful. Any natural part of the body when undergoes a process may lost its natural elements which are necessary to carry-on its natural look. Be it, anyway its your personality that really counts and not the color of your hair.

Should i dye my hair brown?

any color would be fine, molly.

Should i dye my hair brown?

bleach it then go a honey brown

Should i dye my hair brown?

trust me ive had my hair all kinda colors and red always fades out real bad. even the blue i put in mine, and green, stayed way better then red did. if i was u tho id dye it back to black. u looked the best in the 1st pic.

Should i dye my hair brown?

The last one looks dope. It looks sick.

Should i dye my hair brown?

I like your natural color best, but the last red looks good too.

A 'hard-core stay in dye' that I would recommend would be Garnier Nutrisse. Lasts a loooong time between colorings and it has avacado oil too.

Should i dye my hair brown?

i think you looked better with black hair..

Should i dye my hair brown?

i love the 3rd color!! it looks really pretty with your skin tone, and your eyes.

^-^

Should i dye my hair brown?

They all look very similar to me. I like the first one and especially the last one.

Should i dye my hair brown?

i think you would look better with your natural hair color.....but girls never listen to guys lol go with blue or something LMAO! I dare you

Best [red] temporary hair dye?

alright. so i think it'd be kinda cool to dye my part of my hair red.. *temporarily* (its not gonna be my whole head.. just the middle layers so that you can see the red underneath the top layer.. like in a pony tail or if i wear it down - i have layered hair so i think it'd look pretty cool)

i'm looking for a temporary red dye.. preferibly..

- lasts about a week.

- won't damage my hair too badly (most are amonia free right? so it shouldnt be that bad)

- something i can pick up at a drugstore (walgreens, pick n save etc..)

and hopefully it doesnt fade pink. (and in case it does, any quick ways to get it out?

my hair color is a mix of blonde and red (strawberry blonde) with a hint of brown. the way it looks varies on the light it's in. i'm fair.. brown eyes..

so a recommendation of the best temporary hair dye is what i'm looking for. (brand) + any tips would be alright.

(i've heard of L'Oreal Color Pulse when i searched Y!Answers.. some loved it some hated it..)

Hair dye help/tips?

Henna hair dye???my natural hair color is a light dirty blonde i dyed my hair temp blue. most of it

most of the blue is out but it left my hair a very light green. anyways will henna dye cover the green??? i was thinking of dying my hair back to my normal color.

Henna hair dye???my natural hair color is a light dirty blonde i dyed my hair temp blue. most of it is out .?

My mom is a hairdresser and although henna hairdye looks very pretty it's actually really really bad for your hair because it inserts little chunks into your hair which makes it weaker and more prone to breakage. Henna is generally red-based so it'd probably turn your green hair a muddy brown. I'd go with something with red undertones but not henna, probably a little darker than you normally have (just saying that because I've had green hair that I tried to dye over with a semi-light brown and it had really nasty green undertones to it and turned all ashy looking). Go darker, no henna.

Henna hair dye???my natural hair color is a light dirty blonde i dyed my hair temp blue. most of it is out .?

i have no idea

Henna hair dye???my natural hair color is a light dirty blonde i dyed my hair temp blue. most of it is out .?

u would have to die ur hair a darker color like brown first then go back lighter.

Henna hair dye???my natural hair color is a light dirty blonde i dyed my hair temp blue. most of it is out .?

I dont know...

Henna hair dye???my natural hair color is a light dirty blonde i dyed my hair temp blue. most of it is out .?

You should consult a professional who can probably get that out without creating more of a problem than you started with. Coloring it again makes the correction more time consuming and potentially damaging to your hair.Henna will not cover the green-plus it is horrible to pull out of the hair when it is being corrected.

Hair dye on stuck on hands?

I dyed a friends hair yesterday, and they didn't have gloves in the box. Now I have dyed hair before without gloves but this time my hands are VERY dark and I can not get the dye off of my hands. I have scrubbed and tried a few different things. Any suggestions would be SO very helpful!!!

Hair dye on stuck on hands?

wash hands

Hair dye on stuck on hands?

Go to the beauty supply store and get some color remover. Also, exfoliate your hands, it will help.

Hair dye on stuck on hands?

White vinegar.......

Hair dye on stuck on hands?

it will take about a month to get off. or it will never!

Hair dye on stuck on hands?

Nail polish remover (acetone) or some bleach should do it.

Hair dye on stuck on hands?

maybe try paint thinner

Hair dye on stuck on hands?

try hair spray....it brings ink off, maybe it'll bring dye off

or try nail polish remover

i picked blackberries off the vine once %26amp; they stained my hands....to get the stain off my hands i washed a bunch of dishes!!!

the hardest part is going to be around your nails.....whenever you find a product that is working u had better use a nail brush or old tooth brush or something to get it all off

good luck!

Hair dye on stuck on hands?

use GO-JO. It takes anything and everything off. The Orange scented. That is the best and it wont dry out your skin.

Hair dye on stuck on hands?

OOPS!

Hair dye on stuck on hands?

Ok I have 3 differnt methods for you to try.. get a wet cotton ball dipped in toner and dip it in baking powder? Worked if not read on..

Tooth paste leave for like 5 mintues and check if its still not gone read onthis may sounds a little grose but it you mix cigarette ash and a little warm water to form a paste and leave for a little bit then it should be all gone if not then call the number on the back of the hair dye box and ask for advice X

Hair dye on stuck on hands?

nail file - scrub hands with it

polident and hot water - soak. (this is awesome for mechanics or for any man with ick on their hands)

caroli is correct. cig.ashes work great , but stink. and i'm a smoker. uuhhgg

Okay, My roots were growing out and you can really see my highlights..and it didnt look that nice. So i wanted to dye my hair a dark brown. And NOW, my hair is Dark BROWN but it looks so weird! like it looks really fake and everything..i wanted it to look natural too! But its reallly dull ad kinda dry...and my face is kinda light so it stands out ALOT..i kinda hate it. and its too late to dye it because school is starting in 2 days..%26amp; i dont wanna damage my hair anymore..HELP HELP..is there nything i can do to make it look better? or at least look more natural?

**im asian, my natural hair color is black but ive been dying it since forever so im not used to the darkness of dark colors

OMFGG Hair Dye Diasasterr! 911!?

The best fix to a bad dye job that I've ever found is to apply a deep conditioning hair masque to your head and leave it on for 1/2 hour. Then wash and recondition your hair again. It advances the natural color loss that you get in the first week so that it tones things down and they're not so bold. This will also take care of the dryness that you've described.

The other thing you can do is get a color toner to perk up the color and make it not so dull.

OMFGG Hair Dye Diasasterr! 911!?

wash it like 22 times .....

OMFGG Hair Dye Diasasterr! 911!?

theres this hair lightener u can get at walgreens...u just leave it in for so many minutes and its not hair dye and then u wash it out...it wont damage ur hair but idk wat brand it is...

OMFGG Hair Dye Diasasterr! 911!?

go to a salon...they can help fix the problem

OMFGG Hair Dye Diasasterr! 911!?

go to a hairdresser, and they'll fix it

OMFGG Hair Dye Diasasterr! 911!?

It probably doesn't look as bad as you think - you just aren't used to the dark color yet. You can go to the salon and have them try to correct the color and/or give you a deep conditioning treatment. If that is not an option, you should get a good deep conditioning treatment which will help with the dryness of your hair. Also, get a good moisturizing shampoo and conditioner, which will also help with the look of your hair.

OMFGG Hair Dye Diasasterr! 911!?

Get a hair dye remover, then redye it!

OMFGG Hair Dye Diasasterr! 911!?

thats a hard one to answer. don't know for sure.

OMFGG Hair Dye Diasasterr! 911!?

Wash wash wash condition condition condition

OMFGG Hair Dye Diasasterr! 911!?

http://www.headblade.com/

I hope this helps.

OMFGG Hair Dye Diasasterr! 911!?

use bleach or mix baking soda with vinegar and use that on your hair as a shampoo or use soap detergent and this makes the color fade..if you do this like right now it will be more effective

hope this helps

OMFGG Hair Dye Diasasterr! 911!?

run out a, buy aa, wig, and fling,, it on , in a, huryy here, just dont, make the same mistake, here but run out and toss a wig, on your head itt really fat, you screwedd up big time, hope you dont turn bald over itt, hair falling out yet there hons??

OMFGG Hair Dye Diasasterr! 911!?

Wash it a lot so the color fades little by little it would get a little lighter. You really have no choice but to dye it back to a different color.

OMFGG Hair Dye Diasasterr! 911!?

Well you can wash it a lot. If that doesn't work too well you can pull it back in a pony tail until you can get to a hair professional who can really fix the damage.

OMFGG Hair Dye Diasasterr! 911!?

maybe wear it in a ponytail until its better to dye it again - and go to a salon next time. In the mean time.. I guess try getting a really good conditioner. It'll make your hair look softer and more natural.

OMFGG Hair Dye Diasasterr! 911!?

Ok relax

wash it alot and add a small spoon of baknig soda to the shampoo

go out and get a good conditioner and detangler

keep washing for about 2 weeks

do not use any more colour on your hair...go natural..maybe a few highlights JUST IN THE FRONT around the face

if you need colour you just need afew highlights not the whole head OK

OMFGG Hair Dye Diasasterr! 911!?

Get a shade lighter and dye it again. Use Nice and Easy it leaves your hair feeling nice and silky.

OMFGG Hair Dye Diasasterr! 911!?

apply a color breaker (cant remember the name but there are several) Its a bleach like dye that comes with a special brush to apply it in streaks it will break up the solid "wig" looking color created by the dark brown (Ive been there) you wont look so pale try something in auburn or reddish it will bring some brightness to your face.

OMFGG Hair Dye Diasasterr! 911!?

I wouldn't recommend dye removers - they're very harsh! Just wash your hair a few times, and condition it with deep conditioner. It will fade to a more natural shade pretty quickly. And you'll also start getting used to it. :)

OMFGG Hair Dye Diasasterr! 911!?

TRY THE CLIPPERS THAT MIGHT HELP. YOU MIGHT START A NEW FAD.

OMFGG Hair Dye Diasasterr! 911!?

bleach it out and redye it lighter

OMFGG Hair Dye Diasasterr! 911!?

well if you continue to wash it it should lighten and to keep the hair from looking dull or stringy, there is conditoner out that is called colestaral, and you put it in your hair and leve it on for 20 minits and make sher a cap is over it with a hot towl. thats the best thing for it.

OMFGG Hair Dye Diasasterr! 911!?

Dye always looks the strongest the first week. After that it begins to fade. If you're using a shampoo and conditioner for color treated hair, stop and start using a normal one. That will help to strip the color gradually.

I'd make an appointment with a hairdresser, if you can, as soon as possible. If you don't want them to color it, they will at least be able to use a toner and get rid of the color for you.

Good luck!

OMFGG Hair Dye Diasasterr! 911!?

Ok, first of all, relax. light hair is more porous than dark hair, which means your highlights took in more color than the rest of your head...

I dont know what you used to dye it, but heres what you can do. Get Biolage by Matrix Ultra-Hydrating Balm, and use it as a conditioner. After washing your hair, use this as a deep conditioning treatment. Afterwards, use Biolage by Matrix detangling solution as a "conditioner" (use only a little)

Your hair, unless severely damaged should be better in no time.

DONT over stress your hair by continuing to wash it. if its still too dark by tomorrow, go to the beauty supply store, and tell them you want to lighten it SLIGHTLY. You'll probably need a 10 volume developer, which only contains 10% peroxide, as opposed to the normal drugstore boxes of garbage that contain A LOT more to work on a vareity of hair types/colors.

Hope that helps, goodluck!

OMFGG Hair Dye Diasasterr! 911!?

listen whatever you do donot i repeat donot try to remove the color yourself, it will not be good trust me and will do a lot of damage to your hair. Your options are as follows you can go back to the store buy the exact color you put on in a temporary color apply it this will not only not damage your hair but give it some better shine. the reason it's so dull is because you were dying it for so long. Think of it as applying a topcoat like on your fimgernails but for your hair. If you want to be back light you could try baking soda and dishsoap use it mixed like a shampoo lather up for about 10min then rinse. Hope it works out for you good luck.

OMFGG Hair Dye Diasasterr! 911!?

I had the same problem. Accidently died my natural red hr dark black. Looked like a walking corpse w/ my light skin tone. I found out thru trial and error that if you will wash your hair in green palmolive dish washing liquid it strips the color out. It took me 10 washings but it did get much lighter after each shampoo. Good luck, hope that works. Oh yea condition real well afterwards as not to dry your hair out.

OMFGG Hair Dye Diasasterr! 911!?

Thats because you waited shorter than a month to dye your hair again!

OMFGG Hair Dye Diasasterr! 911!?

DO NOT ATTEMPT TO FIX IT YOURSELF you will only damage it further. My suggestion is to go to a salon and have them put a couple of foils in your hair around the crown and feathering your face. Do a caramel blond and a reddish brown. The foils should only cost you about 3 dollars each......I would suggest about 5 of each..........it will look super. It will save most of your hair from further damage......just make sure that you go to a good colorist and watch her....make sure she takes small sectionsof hair and with the sharp end of her comb weaves the hair back and forth to get a natural highlight effect and not clumps of blond and red.........good luck

OMFGG Hair Dye Diasasterr! 911!?

ouch! i don't know how to help but good luck with that =Z

Hair Dye DISASTER!!?

Ok, My hair is naturally a medium brown. For the last year, I've dyed it black. Recently, I decided to go lighter, now that my roots have grown out about 1-1/2 inches.

instead of stripping or bleaching my hair, I used a light blonde dye, thinking that the result would just be darker than shown on th box, right? WRONG!

Now, my 1-1/2 inches of roots are BLONDE and the rest of my hair is still BLACK/BROWN.

HELP!!

I don't have a ton of $$ to spend. (Otherwise, I would have gone to the salon to begin with)

How can I fix this??

Hair Dye DISASTER!!?

Usually to get the color you want you will have to dye you hair 2-3 times. especially when u are trying to make it lighter without bleaching it. wait for a month and do it again. maybe u can avoid the roots this time.

Hair Dye DISASTER!!?

just bye another dye and dye over it its blonde it can be dyed if i were you id try clairol permanant dye or nice and easy its like $5-$3 or go to a salon, like hair cuttery and they can dye your hair for about $20

good luck!

Hair Dye DISASTER!!?

I guess since you don't want to spend alot of money then a salon is out. Why don't you pick a darker color...maybe like a dark medium brown and color over what you have. At least your roots will be dark and close to the color of the rest of your hair. Whatever you chose to do, good luck!

Hair Dye DISASTER!!?

What type of dye did you use on your hair? some dye are metallic and can melt the hair. if you used Clairol or wella you are in to good products. What happened was you dye all of your hair insteaded of just the long ends and leaving the roots alone. to fix it you are going to have to dye your roots a dark brown .

Hair Dye DISASTER!!?

You really need to go to a salon. I am not making any promises that this will look great. Go to Sallys or a beauty supply place that you can get in to (DO NOT BUY ANYTHING FROM WALMART, ETC. ) You are going to have to use bleach because nothing else is going to lift that dark color lighter. OK get a friend, Powder bleach, 20 Volume developer, tint bowl, tint brush, gloves and plactic cap. Take small sections apply the bleach from the line of the dark to the ends. When done put the plastic cap on and let it prosses. You want to lift the color to a medium to light brown it will look a little orange. Make sure you shampoo and use a good conditoner, and then dry it.That will break the color up so you can put a color over it. And then get from the place a allover color get a 7N or 6N and 10Volume developer. apply that allover. it will come out a little dark but let it fade because it will fade a shade or two lighter or a little more. but you want it to be about that color so it will cover everthing. Dont ever use the stuff from stores. Just because the picture has that color does not mean you can have it. There is a lot more to hair color than just picking a color and putting it on your head. So good luck. please next time go to a salon you will acctualy be saving your self money. And if it is a good salon they should be able to work out a price and style that will work for you.

Will blonde dye make my red hair light brown?

I have redish/brown(mostly red) hair that I want to dye light brown. I usually go to a salon to get my hair done but I'm hoping to save money by doing it myself. I already tried using a regualr brown hair dye but it didnt do anything to my hair. If I use a blonde hair dye will that just make my hair a lighter brown instead of actually blonde?

Will blonde dye make my red hair light brown?

red is a difficult color to cover. the pigment is very strong. you will need to use an ash shade. remember that 20.volume peroxide lifts 1-2 shades. so be careful how long you leave it on as your red pigment will go orange. are you really sure you want to change all your color?? why not try lo-lights in an ash tone. once you start coloring your hair you have to keep up with it.

Will blonde dye make my red hair light brown?

It will proabbly make ia a reddish blonde.

Will blonde dye make my red hair light brown?

no. I am also a redhead. Red hair is a pain to color by yourself. Bleach it, then die it brown.

Will blonde dye make my red hair light brown?

well, im not sure but i would go 2 ur local hairdresser and get a proffesional opinion. if u can afford it get it dn there but i would stay natural

Will blonde dye make my red hair light brown?

You should be happy with your hair color. Only 20% of people are red heads. Red hair is pretty tricky to dye. First what you want to do is make it lighter so that it is easier to dye. A way to do that is by bleaching it. After that check out the new color of your hair and go to the store to find hair dye. Most hair dyes come in little boxes, check on the side of a hair dye box and check out your hair color and it will show you how your hair would look like if you dyed it that color.

Favorite hair dye?

Favorite hair dye?

try having a beautician do it. it lasts so much longer.

Favorite hair dye?

Try L'oreal

Favorite hair dye?

My favorite box color is feria by loreal. Make sure you are using Permanant color, not demi or semi. Use a color enhancing shampoo, or color protecting shampoo, or color protectant. You dont have to spend 25 dollars on shampoo, but you need to use something good that wont strip your color.

NO Suave, Vo5, or white rain!!!

I love the suave professionals line, its inexpensive and works well!!

Alternative hair dye during pregnancy? Please Help.?

My sister is trying to get pregnant, but is having trouble finding a safe hair dye that works. She will NOT use normal hair dye because of the potential danger(I know some really great children lived through it, but better safe then sorry, right?). The only safe one she's tried is henna and it was really a pain to apply, and it looks kinda strange. Not doing anything will look bad because she has dyed blond hair and dark roots. So if anyone knows of a safe, practical and attractive product, please share! Even if its only online.

Alternative hair dye during pregnancy? Please Help.?

I am not one for recommending chemical dyes and the question is here, is that your sister wants an alternative a NATURAL one. So no one is really helping the questionner out.

I do recommend henna but she has blond hair, so then her hair would be too orange wouldn't it? What kind of henna are you using? It is easier to apply on damp hair and she can visit www.longhaircommunity.com for tons of natural alternatives especially in the henna thread and read articles on using herbs naturally for your hair.

The thing is if she wants to go natural she has to let her natural hair color come back out or use henna along with indigo to quickly make her hair brown again. What is her hair color really? She wil need mostly indigo and just a small percentage of henna. This is the best natural option.

I really prefer if she would email me directly herself so we can work out the details. Feel free to please !

Alternative hair dye during pregnancy? Please Help.?

There is NO risk of hair dye soaking in through your scalp and getting into your blood stream and to the baby and causing miscarriage or defects. This is an old wives' tale that has been disproved. The ONLY issue with hair dye and early pregnancy is the smell..the strong smell can make many pregnant women nauseous or faint, but it won't poison the baby or anything like that. Seriously. If she wants to dye her hair, she should do it.

Alternative hair dye during pregnancy? Please Help.?

If she's not pregnant yet, then she's fine to use whatever hair dye she wants. It's after she's pregnant that she should avoid dying if she can. If she's planning on getting pregnant, she should have a professional job done to the color of her roots so she can go the whole pregnancy without looking two-toned and then go back to her preferred color after the baby is born.

Alternative hair dye during pregnancy? Please Help.?

Although theres no real proof of hair dye causing problems I am forgoing it and opting for highlights which dont touch the scalp.

Alternative hair dye during pregnancy? Please Help.?

Didn't Britney Spears use vegetable dye?? I think that's a safe alternative. Dunno where to get it though.....

Alternative hair dye during pregnancy? Please Help.?

No one has ever proven that hair dye will cause any harm to the pregnancy. I know of a lot of pregnant women that goes to the salon and dye their hair during pregnancy! And if she's not pregnant yet, it's definately ok to use anything

Regrowth + mahogany/cherry hair dye?

my hair is naturally brown but it's been dyed black for a couple of years. i've been growing it out alot recently - it's almost past my belly. I have some brown regrowth at the top and wanted to know if I should dye the regrowth black before I colour my whole hair a mahogany/dark cherry (loreal feria) colour? If I don't do that i'm worried that the top of my hair will be a lighter and more vibrant mahogany than the rest of my hair. If I dye the regrowth black a few weeks before will it be more of a matching all-over colour once it's all dyed?

Regrowth + mahogany/cherry hair dye?

I would dye it black first. There are other ways to get it to match but personally I think this is the easiest. The top will probably still be lighter because it has less dye on it...use a color remover. They work pretty well.

Hair dye probs!?

ok so its not really hair dye its henia lke the stuff u put on ur hands ,mendi so i put it in my hair lke hair dye (this is normal) and it is lke hilights now what do i do i have the colred part but what do i do now??????????? help i ma doing this for halloween! thanxs sommuch

Hair dye probs!?

unfortunately, henna is damaging to the "inside" of your hair. If you were to put any color on it now, you'll regret it!!! Also, you can not get hilights because your hair will break...and for God sake, don't perm it until the henna grows out. Your hair will fall out! Henna seems natural and harmless, but it's not. It works under the cuticle of the hair. And remember...just because you may not be able to "see" the color anymore doesn't mean it's gone.

Hair dye probs!?

If you put any type of henna on your hair, don't mix any type of chemical hair dye onto it. I will guarantee you that it will turn green. Unfortunately, you will need to wait until the henna grows out. You can, however, use another henna product over it with no ill effects. Know that henna dye is permanent. Good luck.

Hair dye probs!?

Color small sections with a different color. There's a base color and there's a highlight color.Like henna base then

spray on some color just in strips.Send a picture if you can.

It will help answer your question better.

i am never using permanent hair dye again!

Gentlest bleach/blonde dye that wont exacerbate hair loss?

I've been dying/bleaching my brown hair for a couple years now, and everything was fine until I used a light blonde Colorsilk, which burned and caused clumpy hair loss, and now I've got considerably thinner hair. My hair is pretty fragile and still comes out in the shower. Is hair loss that's a result of hair dye permanent?

I feel ugly unless I dye my hair, school starts in a few days, and I've got horrible long roots.

Does anyone know what the best and most gentle brands of blonde dye are?

Also, does Sun-In work as a good alternative to make brown hair blonde?

I am SO grateful for any and all help and advice!! Thanks!

Gentlest bleach/blonde dye that wont exacerbate hair loss?

try the stuff at walmart.

Gentlest bleach/blonde dye that wont exacerbate hair loss?

I have been dying my black hair blond for about 14 years so the only reason I have for hair loss is thyroid problems the best I've found is ultress by clarol Sun In will only make your hair orange and is extremely tuff of hair so I don't recomend it. Hope that helps

Gentlest bleach/blonde dye that wont exacerbate hair loss?

Hydrogen peroxide then go in the sun to dry it keep it out of your eyes

Gentlest bleach/blonde dye that wont exacerbate hair loss?

go to a stylist and tell them your problem... the same thing happened to me so i know how you feel.. but what my stylist did was only died my roots with the heavier bleach that i needed.. and then the rest of it wasn't as damaged.. but it still will damage your hair when you're dieing it..

if you are brave go for a brown.. when you die it a color you add pigment which adds strength to your hair

Gentlest bleach/blonde dye that wont exacerbate hair loss?

Your hair loss sounds like it is coming from over processing.

My professional advice to you is to visit your salon for a protein treatment once a week.

Have your stylist color your hair either your natural color, or a shade darker than your natural color, so it won't require lightening. Fall is coming up anyways. Let your hair rest and grow. Get frequent trims and nurse your hair back to health.

Gentlest bleach/blonde dye that wont exacerbate hair loss?

You are going to have to change your style, because what you're doing to your hair is damaging it. The hair loss shouldn't be permanent, but it will take a LONG time to grow back in. And if you keep on bleaching it, you'll just keep damaging it.

Go to a professional salon. Explain your problem. They can help you out, but be prepared to compromise on the shade of your hair, and follow their directions to the letter.

Gentlest bleach/blonde dye that wont exacerbate hair loss?

Do you have a Sally's Beauty supply near you? If you do, go there and get a 20 volume developer and a bleach packet. 20 volume will take longer to lift your hair, but unless it is black or dark dark brown, it will lift it enough. The lifting power is in the bleach, but if you use a higher developer, it will lift faster and cause more damage. If your hair is close to black, then get 30 volume developer. Apply only at your roots, be careful not to overlap on your previously bleached hair because that will cause breakage. Also, divide you hair into sections and start in the bottom back of your head and work your way forward. Once your roots are a light or pale yellow, it's time to rinse. Using a bottle to apply the bleach to the roots is easier than a brush in my experience. You can also try picking up some toner that will make your blonde even more beautiful, like Clairol creme toner. It fades fast though!

Your hair will recover. Try washing your hair only every other day (you can do just conditioning only on the off days), try getting a wide tooth comb to brush, and be very gentle when your hair is wet. Also, air dry your hair as much as possible and avoid flat irons!
